I periodically offer seminars, lectures, group discussions, and presentations in the community.
Topics I frequently cover include:
- Stress management and self care in today’s busy world
- How can nature heal you? How can you help heal nature?
- Somatic therapy and how it works
- Common mental health issues and what loved ones can do to help
- Communication and problem-solving: Holding onto oneself
- What is Somatic Experiencing and how does it work?
Group presentations about Somatic Experiencing usually cover the following topics:
What is trauma, and how might it relate to my client population?
What are some differences between SE ® and conventional talk therapy? What are some similarities?
What is the felt sense and how is it useful in trauma treatment? What kinds of problems are commonly addressed by SE?
How might different practitioners blend SE into their practice?
Videos illustrating various concepts and SE work; as well as live demonstration of an SE session with a volunteer from your agency or staff.
SE presentations are an engaging and interactive experience for your clinical staff. SE presentations are intended to introduce you and your clinicians to somatically oriented treatment, as well as explore another frame in which to conceptualize clients’ issues. Please note that SE presentations are not intended to provide specific instruction regarding how to use SE with your clients.
